Learning a little bit of Nepali before you go to Nepal can pay great dividends. In Sermathang and the surrounding regions, the population speak Yholmo (a tibetan dialect), however many people speak Nepali.

If you speak a little of the language, your trip will be far more fun than if you rely on people speaking English all the time.
